Welcome to Snake Creek Grill

At one point in time, mentioning “Heber City, Utah” might have gotten only blank stares. But believe it or not, the 1996 April edition of Money magazine identified Heber as one of America's 50 hottest little boomtowns.

This small, pristine town in Utah’s Mountainlands region is growing rapidly to embrace Olympic venues, luxurious bed and breakfast inns, historic attractions, a more-robust-by-the-day economy, and now, of course, a favorite upscale restaurant with a down home feel: Snake Creek Grill.

Heber City is home to the busiest venue of all during Utah’s 2002 Olympic Winter Games, February 8 – 24, 2002. Soldier Hollow, located at the Wasatch State Park just outside of Heber, hosted 18 events in 2002 including biathlon, cross-country skiing and Nordic combined events.

Located just 18 miles outside of the famed resort town of Park City, Heber’s just a short drive, or a gondola ride away, from world-class ski resorts
The Canyons, Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and a plethora of shopping, galleries and fine resort town accommodations. Highway 40 provides a quick and easy 20-minute drive straight to Park City, and the new Jordanelle Express Gondola just off the highway will drop skiers at Deer Valley Resort’s base area.

Though Heber City’s growing almost as fast as the sunflowers that line its roads in summer, the natural beauty of the area hasn’t changed much. Heber is centered around a wide, sweeping green valley presided over by the impressively craggy 11,957 feet of beauty that is Mt. Timpanogos. The turn-of the century-styled Main Street is still quaint and uncrowded with a smattering of antique shops, bookstores, a movie theater, coffeeshop and an old-fashioned milkshake stand that goes down in the history books. Antique farmhouses dot the fertile landscape and there’s nary a house without a garden. The sight of the 100-year old steam train of the Heber Valley Railroad creeping by is a living reminiscence of the Old West that most people only see in movies.

Heber is known as “a hub of recreation.”
Nearby Deer Creek Reservoir is the daily site in summer for windsurfers, sailboats, waterskiers, fishermen and swimmers. In winter, the ice fishermen brave the cool temperatures on its glassy surface.

Heber Valley boasts 90 holes of golf between the Wasatch Mountain State Park, Soldier Hollow and Homestead courses, both of which are used for scenic cross-country skiing during the winter months. The rushing, crystal waters of the nearby Provo River are a favorite of anglers, and the Uinta National Forest with its 40 campgrounds and miles of hiking trails, hunting and fishing areas, lies about an hour’s drive from town

The bustling town of Provo is approximately 25 miles from Heber City, and is home to the famed Brigham Young University and Utah Lake – another place frequented by lovers of water sports. Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort is located just 18 miles from Heber, and their Sundance Farms is located on a lazy country road just outside of town.

Heber’s a short enough drive from Park City, Salt Lake City and Provo to make enjoying a night out at Snake Creek Grill very doable. And it’s just a long enough drive to clear the head, enjoy the scenic vistas and work up an appetite for a night out in the country enjoying a home cooked meal and the elegant service found at Snake Creek Grill
